Subjects Taught
1st Grade

I received my Bachelor's of Science degree from East Tennessee State University (ETSU) in December of 2004. I completed my Master's degree at Carson-Newman College in July 2011. I am a certified reading specialist.

I have been teaching since 2005. I have been at West Elementary for all of my teaching career thus far. I have taught first, second, and third grades. I currently teach first grade and this is where my heart is. I love teaching the little ones to read and seeing the spark in their eyes when they learn something new.

I was born right here Morristown. I was raised on a small family farm in Russellville. I attended Russellville Elementary School, East Ridge Middle School, and East High School. After high school, I attended Walters State Community College for 2 years. Then, I went on to East Tennessee State University where I received my teaching degree in December 2004. I received my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction: Reading Specialist from Carson-Newman in July of 2011.

I am married to a wonderful man named William. He is an auto mechanic. We have two children, a daughter named Reagan and a son named Grant. Reagan just turned seven years old. Grant is 2 years old.

I have wanted to be a teacher since I was in second grade. I teach because I love it and I love children. I hope that I can create a spark in at least one child each year that ignites into a true love of learning.
